Dear customer,
We would like to inform you about possible delays following a combination of events in the port of Antwerp causing operational challenges.
- The impact of the official strike by the pilots earlier this month is lingering. Ongoing changes, work-to-rule by the pilots and inability for vessels to berth have led to irregular peaks in container volumes and a queue of vessels entering and leaving the port. As a result, DP World 1700 has announced a general stop for export deliveries as from Monday 29 June 2026.
- Next to that, high cargo volumes are expected to arrive in the coming weeks, putting pressure on terminal capacity and overall operations.
- At the same time, the annual holiday period will reduce staff availability across all terminals and logistic and transport companies, further increasing operational challenges.
As always, we are undertaking all reasonable efforts to mitigate the impact on our customers, but please do note that delays are possible. We advise you to inform us in advance of expected increase in volume so we can proactively work together on possible alternative approaches.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via commercial@zuidnatie.be
Given that possible delays are the result of circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to reject any costs arising from them.
Thank you for understanding.
