Certified Pick Up @ Zuidnatie terminals

The new digital process for the release of containers, called Certified Pick up (CPu), is already operational on the deepsea container terminals in Antwerp.

Safer, more transparent and more efficient
Certified Pick up has combined all data from the ship agent, the terminal and customs since January 2021. By registering on the CPu platform, all parties in the import chain can see the status of their container at any time. This status can be viewed in the form of a series of “green lights”. The container can only be picked up when all lights are green, including the customs light. This transparency will enable the various players in the chain to carry out their work more efficiently.

All terminals
From now on, 17th of May 2024, the use of Cpu is extended to all other terminals in Antwerp that handle containers. The digital process is replacing the existing process with pin codes. This means a container can only be collected with digital right of pick-up and identity verification of the operator coming to pick up the container. Furthermore, a container can only leave the terminal when the customs light is also on green or orange.

Connection required
To increase security in our port, this new method is mandatory for everyone by 17 th of May 2024. That obligation was included in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges police regulations. There are two ways of connecting to CPu, either via a system link between CPu and the company’s own software, or by using a web application.
