Antwerp, Wednesday 19th of July 2023 – Zuidnatie has again been nominated for the Heavy Lift Awards 2023 in the category ‘Port/Terminal Operator of the Year’. Zuidnatie is the only Belgian port company nominated for the title.

The award is presented to the port authority or terminal operator that has proven its capabilities in the field of loading and unloading heavy cargo. The jury judged the participating companies on, among other things, safe and efficient handling of heavy lift pieces, investment in new equipment, maintenance of existing facilities, minimum waiting times for customers and investment in technology to optimise loading procedures.

“We are again very honoured and hoping for victory this year. In the coming months, we have a lot of heavy lift cargo scheduled, such as wind turbine components and construction parts for current and upcoming projects in and around our port. This nomination is a confirmation to our partnerships that we are their safe home base for handling their heavy project cargo. Of course, we owe this to our staff, they handle all cargoes with great care every time!” – Stéphanie Feys, Managing Director

Zuidnatie has a range of mobile cranes, two of which can perform tandem lifts of up to 400 tonnes. Zuidnatie also has its own SPMT (self propelled modular transporter)- hydraulic trailer and an 8000 m² heavy-lift consolidation center with maximum load-bearing capacity of the siding up to 150 t/m².

On the 25th of October the award show will take place in London. Other nominees in the category are Port of Everett, Logistec Stevedoring, Blue Water Shipping, Port of Açu, Solent Stevedores and Terminal San Giorgio.
